red hawthorn in flowers
This is five weeks later than normal. That's how bad the weather was here in spring. This hawthorn is available for sale or trade btw..

Hello Mr. Pall
Yes very slow indeed it is no better here in Brno. The larch I heavily cut back has made almost no progress. Will you be giving your trees the hedge cut soon, or will you wait for some more sun so they can create some more energy? Thank you,
hedge cut already finished on all trees which came out of the greenhouse. They have four weeks extra at least. The others will be cut within the next two weeks.
Your comment about your cold spring is interesting, here in Australia we've had an autumn that has been unusually warm, so I guess we received the other side of the coin. My figs have been very happy.
Hello Walter, it has been 30+ Celsius here in Brno, I think It's a ridiculous change compared to last week :D . How is this hot spell treating you and your trees (hawthorn) now? I'm watering twice a day!

Such a beauty. I hate the thorns though. How old is this tree?
Marc, I estimate it to be around 40 years old. This one does not have thorns.
40 years old? It looks so much older. If it doesn't have the thornes, then what kind of hawthorn is it?
I think it is Crataegus cuneata.
